More about the property owner than the tenants. No TV antenna in a long-term lease, as it was broken, and owner wouldn't repair. Untreated mold, and damp issues, flooding inundation on multiple occations, hot-as-hell insufferable/inhumane living conditions, and never resolution despite complaints, which were ignored. Never the less, I cleaned up the property, used my own antenna, cleaned out the drains, cleaned off years of other people's grime, and cleaned out half a dozen large trailer loads of garden rubbish, and tree loppings (not just mere prunings,) all to meet agents particular known standards so we could be assured bond back, as well as attempt to get a bit of breeze into the home which didn't work most of the time anyway. We went above and beyond what any tenant would do plus a lot more, and received subtle insults about my relationship in the office upon departure, right in front of the manager. Between the property, child danger from illegal fireplace flue, and extreme heat during summer months, without any air flow ventilation even with windows open, along with a scrooge property owner, it was a stepping stone that was sheer living hell. Our brains cooked in that house that was an oven when the Sun came up. Babies screamed whilst we attempted to stave off heat exhaustion, and dehydration. These living conditions forced expenses that mounted to the hundreds of dollars the agent knows nothing of. Air conditioning would have been futile too. We made way too many exertions to rectify faults at great expense to want a repeat of the same experience. It appears many agents, and landlords have lost their compassion for people, and have plenty of time for those that own property, and sell property through them. We happily sold a property through a different agent in Ngo though. Ngo has issues with many properties around. Personal experience saw this many, many times, not just with R&H Ngo. Incidentally, the rent went up $10 a week after we left. We should have got a bonus from the owner for good tenancy, and some rent reimbursement for the constant breakdowns, problems, and repairs we endured. The agent's plumber was marginally competent, and careless, so much so that I had to follow up work at my own expense because their solution didn't work, for which I'm sure this plumber billed the owner for (my money in their pocket,) and was going as far as willing to quote major demolition work on two occasions that didn't need doing, and did not use investigative equipment to establish evidence backing outlandish assuptions for work that would have drastically disrupted our home life. I became so concerned I didn't want that plumber in the house! R&H still insisted on using that same service... good luck with that property owners... We only got a thank-you from our property manager when we left, whom was a person as you would expect an ex-Redcliffe agent to be. I'm sure hands were bound by the property owner, who we refused to pay more rent to. I will praise R&H Ngo on keeping minor repairs forfilled, though unfortunately for this one particular property, they just kept occuring big time! We moved on after utter intolerance became over-whelming, with the notion of 'cheap properties have hidden costs.' I feel any landlord is fortunate to have me, and those that can't hold onto good tenants I wish misfortune upon, because misfortune it was for us. Whether or not this reflects upon the agency is anyone's guess, you be the judge.
